Eh, a large portion of handheld systems do sport revisions - about the only ones I can think of that haven't had a single revision would be the Game Gear and the Sega Nomad, and possibly whatever that one Atari one they had out, the Lynx or whatever (I'm not sure about that Wonderswan system.) Nintendo has historically done revamps of their systems - Gameboy eventually released Gameboy Color and Gameboy Pocket (I forget which came first, though), the GBA had the SP and the Micro, the DS had the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL.
I'm sure they'll make at least one revision during its lifespan.
Aside from the XL, which I don't understand why that would be assumed, I can't imagine what they'd even bother to change. But leave it to Nintendo; they'll find something they can improve. If nothing else... higher resolution cameras?
