I got it when it first came out, and I can't go back. I think it's equal parts the extra grip it adds to the base as it is the extra battery life. And it's not actually double battery life, it's a tad shy of that.

But mine is still holding up well, can't recommend one enough; and especially for $20, it's the way to go.

I got it a few weeks after the system came out and I totally agree. Im never going back. It's like DSi battery length and its nicely design. The grip is nice but it does make it alittle thicker making it even more harder to store in a pocket.

Also, I tried switching back for a few days just to see the difference; and I hated it; felt like coming home for my hands when I put the Nyko battery back on.

Another thing you should be aware of is that the texture of the base is pretty similar to the 3DS circle-pad, which is very nice.

I know I'm sounding like a shill here, but honestly, I just think most 3DS owners should have one of these, and perhaps Nintendo should make something similar themselves.

Great, grabbing one in the morning.

How well does the coating on the bottom hold up & does the coating wear from use?

I've been thinking of getting one of these as well... Will the 3DS still charge in the dock with it on?

No but they made their own dock for this battery.

Seems like it's got pretty mixed reviews with regards to the included base. I might just save myself $5 and get the stand alone battery. I'd hate to not have use of my dock though... hmmm.

got one at launch and love it (i get around 6 hours with full 3d for a 3ds game and around 10 hours for a normal ds games)

that said the battery pak is still too small... i have to stick my ds game cases at the back of it to make it more bulky (not bad because i can store 2 extra 3ds/ds games on the go)

It's worth it, for all of the aforementioned reasons.
