I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong. I have been putting my system in sleep mode by pushing the power button once and then closing the screen. It seems like the system is still eating power as if I had been playing games the whole time.

Is there something I can do to conserve power aside from shutting it off completely? I want to be able to get streetpass tags.

Power Button, then wait for a grey screen with two lighter grey buttons - press the Sleep Mode button.

Didn't the sleep mode button get removed with an update? I thought you just closed your system and it went into sleep mode.

What version do you have? I believe it was removed as of version 2.0.0-2

I'm certain its going into sleep mode but it still seems like the battery is being depleted really really quickly. Not sure whats going on. I even got the Nyko battery but I still can't make it more than 10 hours on sleep mode.

To check if the system is really in sleep mode, check the blue light in the front. If it is fading in and out, then the system is in sleep mode.

If that isn't happening, maybe you should check your configurations. IIRC there is something about it there.

The battery might be bad, or you might be getting alot of wireless traffic. Does the orange light flash alot?

I never push the power button before putting it in sleep mode. It's not necessary. Just do it from the Home Menu.

You might have a faulty battery. My 3DS lasts almost 3 days while in sleep mode, just by closing the 3DS.
