That practice is actually illegal though, and the business could lose their ability to use the credit card machines if reported.

Seriously? Everyone does that around here >.>


Charging a fee to use a credit card is illegal in some states. But in all states they can legally refuse to let you use it if the purchase is under $10. Most places who enforce this are asking for at least a $5 charge on the card.

It annoys me too. When I get to mark down things at work for clearance I always put it on an even dollar amount or bring it to 50
