Nintendo advertises a 480 hour battery life for the thing, but there's no power switch on it. Does it ever turn off, then? Or does the infrared signal the 3DS sends to it somehow turn it on?
That's ridiculous. Why would the president be spending his time checking GameFAQs?

I'm not asking because I'm concerned about the battery life; I'm asking because I'm curious about how it works.

I dunno, have yet to look at a CPP, but if it's just something you flip off then it shouldn't be a big deal. Though yeah I agree if it is screwed on.

It lasts 480 hours on one battery. And I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure battery power is only really consumed when it's in use.
And you definitely won't be laughing September 13 when they cancel the 3DS. ~thundercat2600, Aug 24, 2011

Yeah you have to unscrew it to put the battery in and out. would it kill a person to unscrew it?. of course not, but it's rather silly to have to do it everytime to save on battery, assuming theres no off switch for it.

the CPP pro only draws power from the battery when it's receiving infrared information from the 3DS. Unless you're playing a game that supports it the battery wont lose power.
