I enjoyed NSMB2 far more than Sticker Star. I just felt like there was more action and the music was more upbeat. I hadn't played previous NSMB games though, so maybe it is boring if you have.

SMASHKING, that's true for EVERY game. It doesn't mean that being a rehash is acceptable. If Nintendo released SMB3 today, with the standards of today (audio/visuals), it would be praised for its level variety, the depth of content, the originality, the improved swimming, incredible variety in enemies, etc. You severely underplay SMB3 if you legitimately think that what it did was an inevitable direction of any good platform series. You are also quite insane if you think that 2D platforming can only do so much. That statement requires that many of the best platform games of the last 10 years are entirely made-up.

Sticker Star by a landslide.
This sig will not change until J.P. Howell and Carlos Pena are released or sent down from the Tampa Bay Rays.

Have both, prefer PM:SS by a very large margin.
I enjoy playing PM so much more than I do NSMB 2. It's more fun, seems like it does more, I love the mechanics and I enjoy the humor.
I have already spent more time with PM than I have with NSMB as well as replaying levels for higher scores, more stickers and good old fashioned fun.
Never argue with an idiot. They just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

I'd say Sticker Star. Compared to NSMB2, SS is worth the $40 in content while NSMB2...well, it's a good game, but short enough to be worth about $20, hold the downloadable Coin Rush stages.
