I have no idea what you mean by 'tall enemy dude'.
Anyhow, some general tips:
- Headshots: These do incredible damage. If you manage to get all headshots, you can kill most of those ooze enemies in 1-3 headshots from a normal handgun. However, it's very hard to get them as well, since the enemies move so weird. Using a few bullets to stun them might make it easier. Try to make every bullet count.
- No need to kill all enemies. On the normal difficulty, I did kill most of them and early on I had trouble keeping up with ammo/herbs. Later on I'd skip enemies I know I could. Like when having to backtrack. Enemies don't drop ammo or herbs, they just soak up bullets. Rankings are fairly useless, aren't saved and you don't even get much BP (you'll get waaaaay more from Raid mode). When encountering very dangerous enemies it might be wise to skip them as well. Learn how to use the dodge mechanic (run forward when you're about to be attacked) and this shouldn't be a problem.
- Bosses are bullet sponges. They generally cost A LOT of ammo to kill.
Read the mania: http://www.fanfiction.net/~nonexistinghero In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.
shoot normal arm, then switch to the deformed one to stagger the enemy... then hold the melee button to fully charge an attack ^ maybe you shoot the deformed one first and switch back, but im pretty sure you shoot the deformed arm second
