Blah. Sony's the only one who gives us a break.

I can't say for Canadian provinces, but in New Mexico, I am charged tax on digital Sony purchase... but only when I use a credit debit card. I was surprised when earlier this year I wasn't charged tax for a purchase with a PSN card. Unless, of course, they got rid of the tax this year for some reason.

You could but 2 $20s to get $40, and then use a CC to pay the tax as you can pay the needed funds.

The 3DS cards only comes in $20. There isn't anything higher.

I know, but I have gift cards I was wanting to make use of.

I was trying to avoid making the trip when the game comes out (Fire Emblem, specifically) but I guess I'll have to.

Ah, Im guessing you only have 40. Well you can just use those cards on the retail.

Yeah I'll probably just go that way now that you mention it.

Of course this all depends on if I can get the cards at Bestbuy. From Googling, it looks like they're pretty hard to find.

I have $60, but I don't want to buy a third card since that credit will probably just be wasted.

If you want to avoid tax just change your location in the settings to an area/state that doesn't have tax.

I don't think there is anywhere in Canada with no tax, and since I can only buy Canadian cards that's not an option.

The eShop is the NA region so you can just use an American zipcode. As long as the servers think you're in NA, it'll work fine.
Goodbye Chewy. You were the best friend I could ask for. Rest in peace, buddy.

Change your location to somewhere in Alaska. No tax. You're welcome.

So if I buy $40 in eshop cards, load that credit, then on February 4th change my region to Alaska I can buy Fire Emblem for $39.99 straight up?
