I really miss this game! it was simplicity and yet still addicting, something most (not all) big games lack these days. is there a chance it will ever be released?

There's Dragon Warrior I & II for the GBC version. Also, there's Dragon Warrior III especially for GBC only. It has new features not available in the NES version.

Drat, dont have a gbc anymore....
still, I wonder why they didnt put this on the wii? (or several other games that I would have loved to see on VC, I will have to get a wii u and hope they turn up there, but I will wait a year or 2 before I even bother with that.)

You could play the Game Boy games emulated on the PC as well from the NES games, too.

While you wait for DQ1 to be released, have you played the rest of the series? They're all fantastic games.

4-6 have DS remakes, you ought to play them.

What I'd really like is for Dragon Warrior Monsters on the VC, since my last GameBoy is broken, the PSX translation seems to be stalled, and the 3DS 'remake' looks terrible and won't come stateside anyways.

Then you've missed the best of the series! III and V are the best, in my opinion, but it's worth playing all of them. If you liked I you'd surely like the others in the Roto trilogy, II and III.
