I have come across alittle bit of cash and want to spend it. Only problem is that I have not kept up on any Nintendo news. Is the 3DS any good?

Could I get a couple of un-bias opinions about the handheld?

If you have enough money for a 3DS and a game(s) you should go for it.
I'll let someone else recommend you games since I don't know what you like.

There's a decent enough pool of games for it now, so yeah.
Currently playing: Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
Rainbow Dash is best pony. Fact.

Yeah, go for it. It had kind of a slow launch, but it's got plenty of games out now and a bunch coming out in the next couple months.

Which one? 3DS or the XL one? I got the XL after seeing a good review. It's a little more expensive, but not by that much, and you get more memory in the card and a imo, a better 3D experience. I've seen the 3DS and eventually compared it to my XL. There are tons of great games out there and you'll definitely be seeing more this year.

as far as handheld gaming goes, it is PROBABLY the best one to go for. the system itself is what you would expect from Nintendo, it isn't a graphical powerhouse, but delivers a fun gameplay experience, and uses the features of the system pretty well. The 3D can be a little hit and miss, I absolutely love it, but there are many people here who hate it.

Ultimately though, it is the games that are what are going to make your purchase of a system worth it, so without knowing what games you like, we really can't help you further...
and thus concludes my post.

depends what kinda games you want.
I bought a 3DS over a vita, it was like 20 games vs 2 games (that I wanted)

You should go for it. I used to not be interested and just neglected it. In the 5 weeks that I've owned it i've played it about the same, if not more than my Vita which I've owned for 10 months. It exceeded my expectations and I am very excited for the upcoming releases for 2013. Just check out a release schedule and browse the boards here to see if there are enough games that you would want.

I own both Vita and 3DS. And I must say, if you prefer some classic titles and RPG, 3DS is more worth it. Vita has too little titles right now. And seeing that MH is coming out in March, I will say get 3DS. I'm getting myself another XL soon too :)

Do you like Atlus RPGs? If so, then yes as they seem to be supporting it with everything besides Persona - which pisses me off :/ . But Ill dream for a PS4G port, even if I think its unlikely.

Assuming there are 2-3+ games that you really want to play on the 3DS, then yeh its worth it.
