Just playing this game and I'm like dang, imagine if we can create maps. What do you guys/ladies think about that? Why hasn't it happened haha?

That's never been a feature in past Mario Kart games. Aside from that, Nintendo usually doesn't offer much in the ways of personalization - I think they want players to adhere to a safer prearranged structure.

Nintendo likes to control the content of their games.
Now Playing: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Terraria, The Ur-Quan Masters, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.

Hackers can care less since they will just make their own map editors ;).

Diddy Kong Racing had a map editor. It was horrible.

Never really needed it. From the moment Mario Kart 64 introduced crazy multi-leveled tracks, the prospect of track editors went away. It would take a LOT of work to do a track editor that can do multi-leveled tracks. If you just gave them the generic, one plane track with ramps or flyovers, people are just gonna call that lazy, so better not do it at all.
pardon if my posts suck, i post by tapping on the handset button on a one-way analog handset. i saw Hannibal Lecter do it.

Just curious,why?
Was it like stage builder were it sucks because they give you too few tools?
Was it like little planet were the tools they give you are confusing?
Or something else?

I agree about the "make new courses on old game" thing.

Although, making OLD courses based off the new game is what I'm looking forward to.

Taking my two favorite Mario Kart games (64 and DD), making them with the DS engine (which is just a modified Double Dash engine) AND PORTABLE sounds so freaking amazing!

Hi TC,
If you are so much interested in creating maps in cart game, then there is a game called ''Gripshift'' on the PSP, i.e., if you own a PSP.
