The indent is correct, but I can't really tell the difference with the seal and the rest of the gloss on the front label. I can kind of see something, but Im not sure...

Again, if it is playing in your 3DS, it is fine. It is matching up with the firmware's digital signature to check its legitimacy.

The physical checks are just there for those of us browsing used game stores or ebay pics without being able to test the cart with our 3DS at that moment before buying.

Why are you even asking this TC? Did you have an issue with this in the past, or are you just paranoid?

Can't blame someone for wanting to know if their $20 purchase is legit, especially if they are a collector to any degree.

Just uber-paranoid about stuff like this. I usually get really suspicious of seeing a rare game without the original box being sold anywhere, even Gamestop. Honestly, the employees don't check to see if games work. I sold a Gamestop a copy of Pokemon Ruby that didn't work and got about $6 out of it.
"Think we should tell them about the hexes, or sell it as is?"

You would be amazed by how many pirated used DS games show up in GameStops due to clueless parents buying their kids DS games off ebay with stock photos from Hong Kong to save a few bucks and then trade them in.

:( I remembe rgetting a preowned Chrono Trigger from Amazon UK. Turns out it was fake as it would not load on my 3DS at all and crashed frequently on my DS. So I left negative feedback after getting a refund and the guy kept intimidating me until I pulled the feedback down.

I one time bought a fake Tetris DS from GameStop, it had a fake case and manual too. Do not underestimate the bootleggers I promptly returned the fake copy and told them it was fake.

Tetris is probably the most faked DS game out there
