In your opinion, are the Layton games worth buying?
Is the story good?
What would you compare the stories to?
Are all of them worth playing?
Do the puzzles get very challenging?
Is it worth playing the prequel titles before the main titles?

Thanks, they look pretty cool and if the story is really good, then I'm very interested.

In your opinion, are the Layton games worth buying?
Hell yes

Is the story good?
Yes

What would you compare the stories to?
A mix of Sherlock Holmes and Indiana Jones, thrown in with English gentlemen

Are all of them worth playing?
I believe so.

Do the puzzles get very challenging?
Usually the story ones aren't TOO hard, but the extra ones can get VERY tough

Is it worth playing the prequel titles before the main titles?
It probably doesn't matter, but the game play gets more refined from the first released one on.

Basically everything the above poster said, except I would highly recommend that you play them in release order.
Excuse me, more spaghetti please.
And bring some more egg rolls while you're at it.
