I really don't want to have to use the stylus to move and attack again

Judging from the trailer, the gameplay takes place on the top screen, and you can see the A button being utilized.
DS focused primarily on touch screen, but the 3DS will focus primarily on the 3D effects, so less touch screen, more buttons.
Maybe touch screen for puzzles here and there, but predominantly button controlled.
Playing: Final Fantasy III UMD - Saronia Kingdom, Tales of Graces f - North Strahta Desert
Dragon Quest>Ys=SMT=Tales>Final Fantasy, but I enjoy all five.

There's been video of press playing the game on 3DS and it's traditional controls.

To confirm your doubts, I thought the (A) button on the demo screen was a part of the 3DS video controls... I accidently stopped my video

Yeah, when you think about it, it's quite obvious it won't be touch-based.

I too was wondering at first, but then it hit me: only the non-touchscreen can display 3D, and 3D is what they of course want to use now.

Probably the first time I'm happy about 3D (not saying I actively hated it, just that I was always indifferent to it). Otherwise, chances are they would've gone touchscreen-based again.

Video clips if you want to see the portion that press was allowed to play. Nintendo didn't allow any clips longer than 30 seconds, which is why there aren't that many and they're all broken up.
