I live on Long Island, went to buy the game today, apparently the regional distributors have it backordered now. Every single electronics/game store in the area is out of stock and there's no plans of getting it for another two weeks. No websites have any copies.

Annnnd even Amazon is out of stock, and is listing an indie merchandiser who's selling it for nearly $60 bucks.

There's no reason for a successful, first-party, Triple-A title to be impossible to find less than a month after launching. I call ********. Nintendo must be limiting stock to push digital downloads.
And they say Pokemon is a kiddie game?

The same happened with Fire Emblem. It really seems like Nintendo is trying to push digital sales, since digital sales are 100% profit. But until they implement a proper account system, I'm not buying anything from the eShop.

I know how to buy games on the eShop. it's simply the principle of the matter. I prefer physical copies for full retail games, and I get the feeling Nintendo is strongarming us into buying digital since the game has been very successful. which is awfully Microsofty of them.

Yeah they also both say "Usually ships in 2-3 weeks" when you add it to your cart.

Expect shortages for future releases from here on out.

It worked for Animal Crossing in Japan. No reason they wouldn't employ the same tactics in other regions.

I prefer digital myself.

Pre-orders are always a possibility.

Or wait the two weeks.

Lots of options.

Digital content is the future, after all.

You gotta join the bandwagon at some point.
