Tried the demos for both and I loved both but can only get one atm. I'm thinking Monster Hunter because I get the feeling that's going to be hard to find soon. Saying that I was browsing the older Fire Emblems last week and the prices kinda shocked me.

Thoughts?

Well, I'm not a UK person, but I have thoughts.

The two games are vastly different. MH involves fully controlled actiony hunting, while Fire Emblem is a Eugenics simulator with turn based strategy elements.

In MH, you grind for rare materials to make equipment from, while in FE you grind for character levels.

In MH, you learn a monster's attack patterns and habits to beat it, in FE you learn a map's layout and enemy movement patterns to win.

In MH, you can either play with 3 other people, or up to two AI minions. In FE you raise a fully controlled army.

Which do you prefer?

Fire Emblem but I'm bit worried Monster Hunter will be hard to find (and higher price) in few months time . I could get Monster Hunter but again I'm just bit worried Fire Emblem will be harder to find (and higher price) in few months time.

It shouldn't happen but still....

Do you have XL or Standard 3dS? FE either way but do NOT buy MH is you have standard 3DS. it's terrible.

Also few months? Don't be silly. Neither game will be hard to find. Maybe in 3-4 years time but not now.

Standard 3DS and MH looks fine based on the demo....Though I got 3DS back from repair recently and it has a horrible yellow tint on top screen and purple tint on bottom (bottom tint might be screen protector)

Keep meaning to ring up Nintendo but just keep forgetting.

Fire Emblem is published by Nintendo so don't worry about availability unless if you can't buy games online.

If you're worried about retail availability, definitely go for Fire Emblem.

Monster Hunter Tri is still easy to get and cheap too.

The past three Fire Emblem games, though? Even used they cost more than they ever did at launch. Sucks too, I'd like to play them!

I'd say MH but it really depends on what style of game you enjoy.
