Sorry if this topic is a little out of date, but I just bought a 3DS and I'm seriously considering getting this game.

Thing is, I'm debating between 3D Land and Luigi's Mansion. Which one would last me longer (without feeling TOO long, if that makes any sense)? I will eventually get both, but for now I really need some opinions.

By the way, I haven't played a Mario game since Mario 64 (I was a PlayStation loyalist in my youth); so the criticism of "it's more of the same" isn't really a negative for me.

Thanks in advance.

If you got an XL buy Luigi's Mansion and get 3D Land for free, if in America that is.

I bought it day one and I still pick it up from time to time. One of my favorite 3DS games!

What this person said. And you only have 3 days left for the deal just to let you know.

I think Luigi is actually the longer game, just in terms of beating it.

However, Mario 3D Land is so much fun that I've beaten it like 5 times and still enjoy it. Its bite-sized levels are perfect for portable play, unlike Luigi which has 30 minute long missions that can drag on.
Both great games. Luigi does have a pretty fun multi-player mode if that interests you.

If you like doing speed runs to see how fast you can get through the game and different ways through the levels and all, a lot. Otherwise, I'd say little.

Luigi's Mansion 2 is longer, and I also feel it has better replay value because of its well hidden collectibles, the high score- and grading-system for every mission and its enjoyable online multiplayer. Personally I've already played LM for more hours than I did 3D Land.

I haven't played Luigi's Mansion yet, but 3D Land is a TON of fun, and one of my favorites on the 3DS. And it's fun going through the levels and replaying them. 3DS FC: 2621-2609-5041 (Nick)

As people mentioned already, you can get Super Mario 3D Land for free. You need to go to Nintendo's reward website

First off, make an account. Second, you need to register your 3Ds XL(which extends the warranty) and Luigi's Mansion. You can register these by entering a pin code on a booklet in the box the game and 3DS came in. After registering, you will be told you can get a free game for download, Super Mario 3D Land being one of them.
