My uncle's ex girlfriend's cousin who knew somebody that was the nephew of another guy in Japan told me that Super Mario Bros for the NES had blood when Mario would step on Goomba's. Also they would yell painfully when touched by fireballs but Nintendo deemed it too violent so they censored it. I have the last remaining uncensored copy. True story.
Did you find the copy underneath the truck in Vermilion Harbor next to Mew?
In Metroid Prime 3. Admiral Dane says "Damn" when the Space Pirates target the planetary defense system. In the Metroid Prime Trilogy version of Corruption, that word was removed. Instead he now says "No." The only curse word in the entire Metroid franchise and they just couldn't let it be.
Currently Playing: Xenogears, PO'ed, Fire Emblem Awakening
But to be fair, some people arent upset because of Tharja's booty(though some people are), but because of the fact that something was censored in general. Alot of people(myself included) despise censorship in any shape or form, whether it be in any form of media. so in a way its kind of a legimate complaint, especially since the censorship from the image in question was not needed at all because for one its a T-rated game and i doubt many children would even be interested in FE to begin with. Second they unintentionally made the image even more racier than before, and third the fact that they censored Tharja's bikini but left the image of Cordelia's top falling off completely untouched doesnt make sense.
tldr;Censorship in general is a legimate reason to be upset but i agree that people are making way too big a deal about the issue.
