Recently purchased an "used" system from Amazon warehouse deals (who is notorious for selling new systems with beat up boxes and hence marked as used).

While it's obvious that the box content has been repackaged, I cannot find any sign of use on the actual system. All the paperwork also look brand spanking new and the AR cards are still in a sealed bag.

My question is, is there anyway to find out if the system has been previously used? I know certain things are tied to the system such as demo play counts.

a system that has never been used automatically starts you on the user settings, cant play anything or get to the game menu. you have to set your name, age, parental controls etc.

You could check if it's been registered on Club Nintendo or not.

If a system transfer or formatting has been performed, the same setup screen appears.

I did go through the initial settings, however I was under the impression that you can always factory reset the device.

I've registered the serial # for the extended warranty. Is there anyway to check the PIN without redeeming the Club points for now?

"All the paperwork also look brand spanking new and the AR cards are still in a sealed bag. "

Eh, that doesn't mean much. I've had my XL sine 2012 and I have never looked at any of the paperwork nor have I opened the AR cards. Everything is practically immaculate.

If you're looking for physical evidence. And if it its the original 3ds. Check the stylus to see if there is scratch marks from extending and collapsing it.
