whats the difference between the soft and hard? is the soft where you tap the touch screen to power off, and the hard is where you hold the power button down?

Idk what the point of powering the system off is. So I don't.

Well you can also do two soft taps of the power button if you don't want to tap on the screen, I usually do that.

I don't think I've turned off my N3DSXL since I got it. Sleep mode all the way.

Since it's designed to sleep there's no real reason to shut it off outside freezes or whatnot.
List of things that don't matter on GFAQs: Japan, sales, reviews, released games, upcoming games, censorship that doesn't involve asses and/or little girls.

I always use sleep mode, but I would turn it off if it weren't such a pain to turn off. I miss the days when the power button turned off the system instead of prompting you to turn it off. And having to hold the button 5 seconds to turn it off every time I finish using it wastes too much time.
