Sorry I'm not much help tech wise but, they should be about the same. The New2DS just lacks the 3D viewing feature. That's it.

EDIT
Ok I looked for the info for you and what I got is
-New 2DS XL is nearly identical to the New 3DS(XL)
-features the same internals, a secondary analog nub, Amiibo support, and the extra shoulder buttons
-minor differences: smaller stylus, system is lighter and thinner, and the game card slot has a cover
-microSD card slot on the New 2DS XL doesn't require removing the back plate to access
-only possible issue is that the speakers are downward-facing on the bottom of the unit so they're easy to accidentally muffle them
-includes a charger too unlike the New3DS(XL)

^ Thanks, good info.
Mods are pathetic SJWs who abuse their administrative abilities and couldn't muster a logical defense for their actions to save their lives. Worthless.

The microsd slot not needing it's backplate removed is nice if you like digitally downloading games and...other types of people, and actually coming with a charger is nice, but that speaker placement is pretty irksome. If you have big hands, then you'll bound to cover it and have to reposition your grip, which can be pretty annoying. Plus the 3D is far from the best feature in a Nintendo console, but it is pretty nice once in a while. Also the 3DS has more cool editions, like the Monster Hunter Generations edition looks great.

It's basically just whether these small hindrances are worth saving $50, especially since the speaker issue, what I consider the biggest problem, is solvable by using earphones, or might not even apply to you if your grip isn't covering them.
It's dangerous to take this. Go alone.

Same processors but different generation also make a different in loading speed or other performances.

Assuming that n2dsxl have newer internal (not better) maybe it can run games smoother.

Power is the same, battery life is different.
The N2DSXL has a weird battery life can be drain 1h faster, the same or 1-2h longer as the N3DSXL. The weird thing is we don't know why. I both have the systems and can confirm this. I tested somethings and it depends on the wifi and light of the screen if it drains faster or slower.
I am the first one who claims that the next 2D Metroid game will be "Metroid Dread".

If you're not testing them under the same conditions, your findings will be irrelevant. It's not useful to compare a New 3DS idling on the home screen to when you're playing Monster Hunter Online on a New 2DS.

That's the point, it is irrelevant. But I did some thing under the same conditions and those were my remarkings. All 6 times I tested played the same game on for each test.
