I'm really starting to think my New 3DS XL might be defective, because it's freezing much more frequently now. I have no idea what causes it to happen, since I've had it freeze in sleep mode, during normal play, and even just letting the system sit still for a minute.

Nintendo's finally done it; the latest firmware update has made your 3DS self-aware and it's starting to rebel.

probably slowly loading from the SD/SDHC card, thus check the card for any problems.

I agree with this, if you bought a bigger memory card make sure it's a class 10.

Only helps if you use the card in a PC frequently. The 3DS forces all SD access through a security chip, to enforce encryption of the Nintendo 3DS folder, and that chip can only sustain just over 2 MB/second for reading and writing the SD card. That makes anything above a class 4 card useless, as it shows no speed benefit on the console.

What? I still use my old 3DS system and I always keep it update but found nothing wrong, so maybe you really got a defective 3DS.But is your game all digital version?
