It wasn't.

Get all the ammo expansions, level up to 50, get better weapons. Not much to say, and I'm assuming you've probably done some of these.

I've only ever run out of ammo in Ghost Ship when I had the bright idea to stick Gluttony/Fullburst/Autoloader on two of my weapons... and even then, I made it further than you did.

If you really want to solo it first level to 50, and then take your time farming infected missions to get the best parts to obtain powerful weapons. You can also try to finish it with a friend.

Man, really? Do you have Charge 4 on your magnum? Maybe you're just fighting way too many enemies.

You should take the following path:

*take the elevator to the flooded bilge
*dip down and grab the key that's in the room where you had to restart the power
*go back up and through the casino
*take the elevator to the observation deck, get the key
*head towards the promenade

The extra key will let you avoid fighting the hoards of enemies at the end of the promenade. Hell, you could probably avoid everything in that area if you use a stun grenade or two.

This is definitely the most ammo-conserving path to take.

Try replacing your machine gun with a rifle. It does more damage and consumes less ammo to kill.

Also, try taking short and easier paths.

The Giant Draghignazzo is the 3rd wave.

There are 8 waves total.

Ammo drops after every wave.. how did you run out?

Also, NEVER put two round burst on an m3. My god that eats ammo.

I don't think the dude got to any wave. He must be talking about the Giant Draghignazzo who appears when you proceed to the top of the ship through that elevator, present in the Grand Hall (which has entrances to the Promenade, and Casino). That Draghignazzo is way WAAAAY far away from the end.
