So I refuse to time travel in this game. But my town is getting more dirt than grass. I've stopped running and started just walking around. But even then the ground is getting worse. Is this scenario going to be the same as in CF? Or did they add another way for grass to regrow?

I'm not sure if this is true, but I think flowers help heal grass.

But I can't be 100% sure.

Don't run everywhere.

That's pretty much all there is to it. I've had the game for around 3 weeks and haven't seen any problems with grass wear.

Also patterns on the ground allegedly reduce grass wear in this game.

I've heard it just freezes it. The grass below no longer degrades or regrows.

But to TC's question, so far the only thing that has been found to work is planting flowers on the dirt patches and watering those flowers daily, while not running on that spot. It is said that rain/snow also helps the process quicken.

I haven't been running but it's clear that paths are forming where I've been walking. Especially around Re-Tail and the bridges.

You have to water the flowers you place on eroding areas. And refrain from stepping on them, as well.

This means you need to focus on the edges of eroding areas, because if you step through them to water the middle you're just gonna put yourself right back where you started.

Here is the solution to grass:

Stop worrying about the grass.
It doesn't hurt your town rating, and there is NOTHING you can do to heal it, besides not play the game.

Flowers will not help
Watering the ground will not help
Walking will not help

If you don't want dirt, stop playing.

It's not a big deal, and your town will NOT all become dirt, you cannot run fast enough to make everything dirt, it heals too fast.

I've heard it just freezes it. The grass below no longer degrades or regrows.

Patterns do nothing. Walking on patterns still adds wear to grass as if it wasn't there.

Does moving a date in a game forward one month and then back again really bug you that much.
You're regenerating grass. Which has no impact on gameplay whatsoever.

Say, how about you quit spreading your assumptions as fact there, buddy?

The time jump does have an effect though. Opens shops sooner.

If you wait until you're fully upgraded before doing jumps, then there's no effect. But before then, there definitely is.
