Do you guys usually try to find the foods that give them hearts? I always look at base stats and see whats the highest and for Gogo it was magic atk so I thought I would feed it ice cream I think it was but no hearts popped up. So what does it like? Is there more than just one food that ups magic atk

Familiarity increases regardless of what food you feed them. It just increases more quickly if you feed them their favorite.

I have no idea what Gogo's favorite food is, but I've been mostly feeding it magic attack up, just like you (I think it's cake).

It depends on if you want more familiarity or a specific stat.

You can only feed them a certain amount of food before they stop getting bonus stats from it, but their favorite food will rise their familiarity faster, allowing for them to gain bonus stats again.

All familiars of the same race/type have the same favorite food, which unfortunately means sometimes it's not their best stat.

You can, however, max out their best stat and then waste their favorite food without wasting any of their stats. Just be careful because the food that pushes them up to the next familiarity level will take effect.

The +50 points from Growth Limit is static. Thus if you use up 10 points on a non attack stat, say accuracy, then your p.atk is +40 at most.

Whether this is good practice or not is up in the air. Personally I prefer glass cannons in my games, so even if I have to waste money using non-favorite foods to increase their Familiarity, I think it is worth it.

I've just been feeding them foods that raise stats that the specific Familiar excels at, I would never give a Mite something that increases its magic attack, for instance. Until he maybe learns something down the road that is magic based, it's pointless. And yeah, from what I've seen their favorite food typically related to a stat they excel at, but if it didn't I probably wouldn't bother unless I wanted to raise familiarity quickly.

MIte gets fire attacks..but...heh his m. atk growth is weak sauce compared to his other stats. I don't know if this changes by level 99, since there's this whole late bloomer thing?
