you know, the jrpg that gets really popular. ff7 became a mainstream game, something not common for jrpg's. ni no kunni is still sold out at most places around here almost a week later, is this going to become remembered and loved like ff7 did? 20 years from now will people be asking for a ni no kunni remake?
Ff7 is no where near as loved today as back then, as people are far more aware of its awful characters, plot, and graphics.
this game isnt anywhere near as popular and may get accolades for the year, but FF7 has pretty much etched its place in history. it introduced tons of people to FF and jrpgs in general. i honestly dont hear much about this game outside the internet where its heralded as this "tours de force" by jrpg enthusiasts.
God no this game is WAY better and will sell WAY LESS.
FFVII, although I loved it in 1997, was really not that great. Story was pretty stupid.
Had some extremely memorable characters and watching Aerith get backstabbed by that pretty boy that half the internets wants to be or be pregnant by was awesome for the time.
Nothing is the new FFVII, just like Nothing is the new Star Wars and nothing is the new Indiana Jones.
FFVII is legendary for many reasons and deserving of very few of them. Heck it's not even top 3 FF games according to many long term FF fans.
However FFVII > FFX
Ni No Kuni is not perfect and has quite a bit wrong with it. However it's a great game, maybe just a tad overrated on these boards, but hey, in 3 months these boards will be down to 20 posts a day and in 3 years this board will be dead.
A ball of sunshine you are. Still....lol.
Sazh - Racist caricature and worst FF character ever. Don't agree ? Your problem. You can't cook, you won't get naked...what are you even good for ?! - Yosuke
