Tales of Graces is a much better game than NNK. I've beaten Graces 3 times. NNK is having trouble holding my attention through the first playthrough due to it's clunky battle system and extremely uninteresting characters.
Folklore is a horrendous game and eternal sonata has the worst character development I've *ever* seen.
I agree about Eternal Sonata.
Folklore however . . . . I disagree strongly. It's not the best game ever made and to be honest, it's really not an RPG. however for what it was, I thought it was great. It was a genre blending that was fresh and unique and just drear and weird enough to give it that "it" factor.
Not for everybody but for someone like me who enjoys unique games that try and break the mold instead of grow mold from having outdated and antiquated mechanics, it's a solid game.
For the price ( currently easily found for under $20 US ) it's a great quirky title.
Some people expected it to be Final Fantasy with a murder mystery and Irish myths and lore. Instead it was a kind of Mutant Action/adventure/mystery/RPG lite hybrid.
Great now I am gonna have to track the game down again since I traded it in years ago =(
I too think that Folklore is very special and unique. Gosh, I love the music of that game :D
The Tales series is the Call of Duty of JRPGs. Of course Ni No Kuni is better. However, neither game holds a candle to true classics like Xenoblade, Radiant Historia, and Golden Sun.
The Call of Duty of JRPGS? OMG, I think there can be no worse insult than this. I disagree strongly, all the Tales games I've played until now were pretty good. In the end, I guess it's a matter of opinion. I agree with Xenoblade and Radiant Historia being very good, but c'mon, the last Golden Sun was pretty weird, and it was way too easy. I know most JRPGs tend to be easy, but thh last Golden Sun was too easy (even by that standards) to be fun.
I dl'd th demo of Ni No Kuni, since I was a fan of pokemon series and they said the gameplay of this game is somehow the same and I was like.............@__@ I don't have the right to judge the whole game itself by playing for a couple of minutes and moreover the demo only, yet considering the time I played for graces/abyss/symphonia/vesperia/ .....for me Tales games are better@_@
