I don't know anything about this except that it sets your level to 1.
Can somebody explain it in-depth and it's benefits?

Revocation has a lot of benefits. One of which is keeping any ability or skill points that you've earned in said class.
Like, let's say you spend 9 skill points in swords, and max in the minstrel skill set. You have about 5 left over that you haven't spent. So, you decide to change to a warrior. Well, those 5 unspent skill points carry over to the new class, where you can easily spend it on whatever skill branch you want in that new class. Also, that 9 skill points in sword carry over to the warrior's sword skill.
That max minstrel skill set's abilities and passives are in affect with the new class. So, essentially, you get all the stat boosts from the passives you got through the skill points, and the abilities.
However, you do not get to keep the spells. When you reach lvl 99 in any vocation, you get to make the choice on whether or not you want to reset said class to get even more skill points.
