Will this work? *very minor spoilers*

  1. Heres my plan: Im going to play through the game, as usual, saving skill points, not spending them. Il get to where I can change my class and add party members, and im going to make them and me all monks, get the tension ability, then change two of them to a warrior and priest.
Then il play through again, back as a minstrel, not spending skill points, while I level up my monk, priest and warrior. Il eventually unlock the ranger class, switch to it, and put the skill points I saved into axes and ruggedness/survival.
I already know the requirements to unlock the ranger class, I just wondering, will this plan work for me, or will some things not work?

  1. Almost anything will work during the story if you know what you're doing and make good use of alchemy for equipment and healing supplies.

With that said, wouldn't it be better to just make your team Minstrel, Monk, Warrior, and Priest in the first place? You can get team members long before you can change classes. If you save up the skill points as you go, you can just switch their classes to Monk when you reach Alltrades, put in the points to learn Psyche Up, and immediately switch three of them back without having to deal with a group containing three characters that can't heal, take hits well, or cast group spells. You also avoid having to go back and level classes you could have leveled to begin with.

Don't forget that someone will need to be able to use knives/daggers for the ranger quest, though I suppose you could power-level a thief (or mage) when you reach that point.
