  1. That's better.

Ok, part of the problem is that your physical combatants are hurting for attack power. Your minstrel should either improve swords to level 76 for the attack power boosts and Falcon Slash, or improve fans to at least 88 for the attack boosts and Fan Dango. Your priest should improve spears to at least level 88 for the attack boosts and Multithrust (in case you're not too busy healing every round). You can quickly level your other classes to about level 12 or so and save the skill points, then use them when you change back.

You can upgrade your Lightning Lance to a Storm Spear if you have a gold bar (or are willing to go to the trouble of making one).

Martial Artist-wise, upgrade a Sleepy Stick to a Slumber Stick (atk 85), or upgrade a Mistick to Optimistick (atk 93) to Ballistick (atk 104), or simply by a Sadistick (atk 90). The Killer Pillar has attack 75.

If you go farming some extra skill points (as recommended), be sure to get some for your MA and mage too. The gladiator's Guts and paladin's Virtue could help attack power or defense respectively.

  1. Great levels, much higher than mine at that point (lv 38 average). Maybe the reason you loose is because your team is pretty weak. The MA is fine, but then you have the weakest possible vocations! Unless the mage has some serious m.might and the minstrel has got a few other abilities beside its own lithness, you pretty much have the worst team. Obviously the worst would be a team of 4 mages, no healer or buffer. What I would suggest would be to unlock and power level the sage to replace your priest (seriously, I have no regrets) and Change your minstrel to something else that has good atk strength. Sorry if I seem like an ass slagging your team but it does seem weak. You have an attacker, magic attacker, which is fine, a healer, and a backup healer/attacker, which should work, but Id say you should take the time out to put points into other vocations abilities. Example: Put points into paladins virtue for your Mage to increase its defence.

  2. Are you aware that this question and several other "How do I beat so-and-so?" questions have already been answered on the Answers page and just needed to be read?

Also, it helps to know what weapons and skills you have.

At any rate: If your minstrel uses swords, use Falcon Slash. Get the Falcon Blade from inside your ship and make the Uber Falcon Blade with alchemy (check the guides for the recipe). UFB + Falcon Slash + attack boosts = major damage.
    The priest should use Multiheal.
The mage should use Oomph on the minstrel and MA. If he gains one level, he gets Blunt, which may also help.
The Martial Artist should use the best multihit attack you can use repeatedly.

Do the level 40 quests for your characters. The rewards can be used by any class.

If you're having trouble with status effects, get accessories that deal with the problems. See the Equipment Effect sticky on the Board, then the Alchemy Recipe guides on the FAQs page to find out how to make them. Also check the Alchemy guides and in-game stores to see if you can make or buy better equipment.

If all else fails, consider leveling your characters as 2 gladiators, a paladin, and a sage.

  3. I don't get why people dog the minstrel class. It's well rounded and it seems moderately fine
my team is a Minstrel, Gladiator, and two Sages. I tear everything up in 10 turns or less without a problem.
