How am I doing so far?
I was just wondering if my team is ok for this point in the game. I'm having a lot of trouble against Goresby-Purrvis. Here's my team so far:
Minstrel Level 35
Dragon warrior equipment
Mage Level 34
Monk Level 35
Priest Level 34
I highly doubt my equipment is where it should be, and any advise and/or criticism is highly welcome and appreciated.
Oh, and FYI, I am a noob at this game.

P.S. I want to change my Priest to a Sage as soon as possible, and I already have the quest for it, but where can i find great trolls?

Ok, what you need is some grinding time. In the dragon quest games level, skills and equipment are the deal breakers in combat. As for how are you doing... its good but things are going to get messy from now on. I'm talking killer bosses, and very nasty beasts. Not to mention the Grotto hunts and the Legacy bosses (look around the web to find out who and what they are, you will be surprised).
Since you posted you are a bit of a noob, let us teach you how to get rid of that. Brace yourself, this is going to be long...
Read before taking action or you might screw up!
First, change the vocation (job class) of all party members to a class that is level 1 (relax, you level in the other classes/vocation will be preserved. What you are going to do is get all the other vocations they have to level 15 to 20. The purpose of this is to get skill points. All the skill points you earn must be spent in the following: Shields, Guts (gladiator unique), Courage (warrior unique) and the matial artist unique line of skills (I forget the name). You don't have to get it to 100, but make sure they get the passive boosts, not to mention the shield skills can save your life. Passive boosts are the ones that look like: strength +10. Passive boosts are permanent and affect all vocations. This process should not take long, depending where you choose to battle.
Second, you need more level. With more level comes more power that is spread all around. After your training is over invest some points in the spear or axe skills so you get hatchet man or thunder thrust.
Next, go to the bowhole (dungeon to the north of Wormwood Creek) and look around for Liquid metal slimes with just 2 characters. Beating just one of these blobs will net you a total of 40,000 exp. (the exp points are divided among party members! You only get the 40,000 if you are alone!!!)
After some time, you will soon be able to fight in the bowhole alone. This step ends when all your vocations are level 40 so you can do the special vocation quests for some really great bonuses!
With just this, you should be able to mop the floor with the final parts of the storyline and clear the game without much difficulty.

Seems like your doing fine. If possible i would suggest going back to Swinedimples and performing the quests from the shield instructor. Once both are completed, you'll be rewarded with a scroll. When the scroll is equipped on any character, it always blocks critical hits. I would highly advise that you give this scroll to your priest. Your priest will be protected better from goresby-purrvis and will be able to heal easier. I think that your priest is high enough to use the spell Mulit-Heal, so i would recommend having him/her spam that the entire time whenever anyone is not dead.
Becoming a sage takes awhile, and great trolls are only found in the Realm of the Mighty. This area is the next area that you travel to after your boss fighting is done inside the castle. it's probably better to stay a priest for a little while longer if you can, so you can fully max out the skill points for Faith.
Other than that, i'd say you have everything that you need up to this point in order to kill him.
