New to the whole "skill" side of things...any advice?

  1. Okay, I am new to the whole "skill" points allocation thing, and I am wondering if there is a good guide that breaks down a good way of how to allocate the skill points well early in the game to be effective? Thanks!!

  1. Yes there is. Its good that you ask early on in the game, cause if not, it could mean a whole lot of grinding later on (That means killing lots of monsters for exp i think anyway).

Just so you know, when you gain some skill points after battle, you will be asked if you want to allocate them now. If you say yes, there would be five choices of skills to place points in. That would be:

    three kinds of weapons
Shield or fisticuffs (Depending on vocation)
    Vocational skill

Most would recommend placing points in ONE weapon, the SHIELD, and the vocational skill.

Some vocations allow use of Shield, or fisticuffs. Fisticuffs, is fighting with no weapon. If some of your party members learn fisticuffs instead of shield, Eg Thief, Martial Artist, Gladiator, I recommend you save them, and when you can change their vocations at Alltrades Abby, invest them in the shield of a different vocation, so later on you could get omivocational Shield master (An ability that lets you equip shield on any vocation. ) Also, if you are unfamiliar with any of the vocations i spoke about, like the gladiator, you can unlock them with quests. Others you can get once you can make party members at Patty's party place.

    Hope i'v helped
