"Rockstar couldn't make a better game for the DS"

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
One of the best games in the Grand Theft Auto one of the best games in the Grand Theft Auto series. It is the first Grand Theft Auto game on the Nintendo DS. It is that type of game that will have you playing over, and over and over again it is that good.

Gameplay: You're at Gamestop you see this game in the Nintendo DS section at first sight you would think it a Grand Theft Auto game on the DS and you would walk on by because it's not on its usual systems, this game is still good even though it's on the DS. In other words it's really fun. It is just hard as other Grand Theft Auto games not easy not hard just how some people like their games. The main thing you do is complete missions and MOST of the missions aren't hard. Its like a Grand Theft Auto game in almost every way, the controls are put at the same place they are on a Playstation 2 remote for example the gas button for a car is X on the Playstation on the DS it's B both buttons are on the bottom control pad. Unlike some Grand Theft Auto games this on you are not able to take the train, but in this game you are able to take the taxi wherever you want to go as long as there is a road that the taxi can drive on. Along with the taxi you have to pay certain prices depending on how far you want to go. Buying guns from Ammu-Nation is different from other games. In this one you have to use your PDA to go online and buy guns, but you aren't able to find or buy sniper rifles. The main way you earn money in this game by buying drugs at low prices and selling them at high prices. Believe me that will put some money in your pocket.

Story: Our story starts out as your father is murdered and you have to take his ancient sword, Yu Jian, to the leader of the Triads so your family will remain in control at the same time you will have to find out who killed you father. As soon as your plane lands your uncle sends a few Triads to pick you up. Before you can even walk to the car a group of men ambush you and shoot you in the head you survive, but it knocks you unconscious. You wake up in the back seat of a car the two kidnappers notice you are dead so to keep anyone from figuring out they dump you and the car in the ocean. You have to break the windshield to get out of the car. After that you have to swim to shore and get in a car and drive to your uncle's restaurant. After a heated meeting with him you will get your first safehouse that you can access Wi-Fi in, store drugs in, replay missions, and save you game.
Score: 10/10

Graphics: The Graphics take the score down a point. The one thing I hate the most is how the only view you have is the aerial view of the city and that is the only view of the city you have. You can't have the camera right behind him. Although you will be able change the angle of the camera. With how the DS screens are so small and you have to crunch so much the sides of vans and signs on the front of stores, but you will be able to see a little of billboards. The cut scenes are not animated the camera may move, but the people will stuff on the screen some stuff is blurry and you won't be able to read things like rarely move.
Score: 7/10

Sound: With the DS's small speakers you want to be able to turn up the volume as much as some people want theirs. The gunshots don't sound like the shots from the guns in other Grand Theft Auto games. They sound more of pops in this one. People rarely even say things in this game sometimes when around people they'll say things like “ All you fools will work for me” or “ Do we now each other” just stupid stuff like that. There is music that is played while you are in a car, but it's not real music it sounds like some bad music the developers came up with.
Score: 10/10

Play Time/Replayability: It will take a month and to beat it 100%, but if you're not playing 100% probably about 3 weeks to a month. You'll be replaying this game whenever you get the chance. It is very addicting like I said.

Overall score 9/10: It would have had a 10 if it weren't for the graphics. If you have never played or don't really like Grand Theft Auto games you should rent it first, but if you love Grand Theft Auto games you should just run out to your nearest Gamestop or Wal-Mart and buy it.
