How do I beat Aerodactyl?

  1. Areodactyl is soo fast that he can take out my entire team before they can use an effective move. Any tips for beating it (Pokemon, Lvl, attack strategies)?

  2. Additional Details:
Aerodactly has always been a pain because of its unbeleivable speed stat. My responses to my answers are these. I dont have a Thunderstone so I cannot get Jolteon and by the time I do I will be well beyond lance. Thank you metalkingboo for your advice. I chose Cyndaquil so Feraligatr is beyond my reach. And I Know water and Ice types will do well. I have decided on using Gyrados for two reasons. 1. He has been my most dependable ally in all of my other journeys. 2. When training pokemon I noticed that the moves that I teach them are never as powerful as the moves they learn on there own so Aqua Tail will be more effective than Surf. In conclusion I think my training or my Quick Claw will win it for me

Accepted Answer

  1. There are a few Pokemon choices:

    - Jolteon or Electrode are solid choices. Both fast (especially if you got + Speed nature). Thunderbolt is the recommended move.
    - Any Pokemon with Reflect will definitely bring great Defense support to your team.
    - Any Pokemon with high Defense will be able to tank it's attacks and kill it slowly. Some choices include Feraligatr, Tangrowth and Skarmory (highly recommended)
    - Alakazam can be faster than Aerodactyl. If strong enough, 1 Psychic is all it takes to kill it. (Espeon and Starmie are similar choices)

If any of these doesn't work, just keep leveling up your party and they'll eventually dominate over Aerodactyl
