The remake of Silver to Soul

Soul Silver is a remake of the game Silver. Silver and Gold were both often considered as the best Pokemon-games ever! Now both games are available on Nintendo DS, with brand-new functions and a so called Pokewalker!

You control the trainer on the same way as in Diamond and Pearl. The menu has changed, and a bunch of new functions have been added. But still, this game lacks the "new" feeling. It's still like Diamond and Pearl but with different trainers. They added the new building like Pokeathlon, but also, they took the Super Contests away. This game would be so much better with that too! Still, this game just catches your soul and makes you forget small things and problems like these...

Not so much to boast about. The trainer is still a little strange since all things is in one square (or more). The graphics has improved since the old days, when the trainers looked like Square Bob, or something in that direction. This game has added the function of having your pokemon traveling with you. That makes the game look better, but still not good enough. It's to make in-game based events work like they should, but they do have to sacrifice the cool graphics for that.

As usual, you're going to be the best trainer... yeah, isn't that a little repetitively? There are bad guys often called Team and then a name like Rocket, Aqua, Magma etc... But this game offers you the ability to visit another region! That lets the storyline score go up a level!

POKEWALKER extra function 10/10

This game includes a step-counter called "Pokewalker". You can deposit your pokemon there, train it, and make it friendlier. You can also catch new pokemons, find items, while you go and collect watts. It's a fantastic function that makes you find the game funnier to play, and helps you with the training of your pokemons, if you don't have time to play the game.

It's important to have fun with your friends too, and that's what this game can offer you! Funny hours with friends next to you, or on the other side of the Earth. Trade pokemons via the GTS and of course, you can battle! Why don't you connect to the Wi-Fi Plaza to play games with people over the whole world?

Small and minor flaws, and maybe not the best graphics ever. Still, it's a game worth playing, buying and spending your time on. If you're new to the series, this is the perfect game to learn the world of the pokemon with!

Rating:   4.5 - Outstanding
