What's necessary to complete the national dex?

  1. "the trainer card changes colour based upon the various achievements you have accomplished within the game."

one of those accomplishments being: "Complete National Dex".

So, is it possible to complete the national dex and earn a color change of the trainer card without event-specific-pokemon such as those distributed via Wi-Fi (some of which are or will be unobtainable in the future)?

  2. Additional Details:
    Are you absolutely sure?

This is how it worked in pokemon heargold/soulsilver:
"Complete the National Pokedex. You need to capture all Pokemon other than Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin & Arceus, giving you a total of 484 in your Pokedex.".

Are you answering based on knowledge or just by assuming "complete the national dex" means capture every single possible pokemon (no offense meant)?

  1. Completing the National Dex means seeing/catching all 649 Pokemon there are in the entire series. Several dozens of them are not found in this game anywhere without trading or cheating, and there's a few wi-fi event ones as well, like the Liberty Pass they're giving out until tomorrow. So, don't expect to be completing the National Dex any time soon.
