"It is a good game, although little improvement, it did quite well. Much better than Red and Blue."
The game is well made, with big improvements from the last game. Some of the big bugs have been factored out, and the correspondence with the show has been much more apparent. The adorable little mouse Pikachu, follows you everywhere, and you can find all 3 beginning Pokemon in the other game with the same Cart! It has had a growing effect on the economy, and Nintendo's Executives are rolling in the dough. It is a very well built game, with good graphics for a game boy game. The programmers did quite a good job, provided that they used the previous games graphics engine. The sound was good, but not the best ever seen for a GBC, but all of that is factored out when you play the game. What really makes a game and system good, is, well, the game(s). The gameplay for Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition has the kids on awe with it's new improved trainers, pokemon, and Gyms. Kids will (and do) love raising the monsters as though they were pets, like a dog or cat somewhat. Teach it new tricks, grow with it, and learn with it. But all this for a video game??? You bet.
My final rating for Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu edition are:
Sound: 9 (Hey, it's a game boy. Remember that.)
Average Score for this game is: 29.5
Reviewer's Rating: 4.5 - Outstanding
