"Old, but still worth it?"
This little game here was probably one the biggest fads of the 90s. And one of the best games for the Game Boy. (Along with Blue) Yes, not all fads are stupid. This game is awesome and is still is fun to play today. You don't need the other game. Just use a glitch to get the Pokemon you want. Pokemon is a Japanese RPG. You know... tile-based dungeons, random creature encounters, deformed animals/people.
Basically you have 151 Pokemon to catch and train. Good amount. Not too much, not too little.
You can trade and battle with a friend, or yourself if your that lonely.
Well, you are ____ from Pallet Town in Kanto. You have a choice between Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. All are good. What you have to do is go and catch and train Pokemon and battle other trainers such as the eight Gym Leaders. When you beat them you get a badge. Once you get all 8 you can go battle the Elite Four. This would be fun without baddies. Would it? Well you have some. Team Rocket. These pests will be in your way a majority of the game. Anyways... The game is not extremely difficult, that's what makes this game easy to get bored of. And come back to so easily.
Your a young ten year old boy. Really? Ten... Hmmmmm... Going out to catch Pokemon and battle them for a career... Team Rocket bla bla bla... Gym Leaders Bla bla bla...
It's repetitive and annoying. Doesn't matter. The game play makes up for it.
Nice, but being on the gameboy doesn't help AT ALL. I'd say a seven.
The Game Boy's at it's finest. Nice beaps, all you need.
Well, it will take a great player or veteran, 20 hours to beat it. And a average player 30 -40 hours to beat it. Some people like to train their Pokemon to insanely high levels. Why beats me. It's a wastes time.
If you love the game. You will like to play the game. It's pretty repetitive once you try out every Pokemon. I mean EVERY. It's a good game to come back to after awhile.
This is one of the Game Boy's best.
If you can find it. Go for it. 20 bucks is a good price for this day in age. It will be worth more, someday. I doubt you could rent it now anyways.
