Same old, Same old, Same old fun.
If you're expecting a brand new revolutonary Donkey Kong Country/Land game then you've come to the wrong game. This game is just like the first two games in the series. You know, collect DK coins, kill enemies, etc. There are some improvements but overall its pretty much the same old, same old game.
The graphics are good for a Game Boy game and have lots of detail. The enemy designs are quite good and the backgrounds are nicely designed, as well. Music is good as well, as the Game Boy never really has outstanding music, but the music in this game is good. The sound effects are good as well, almost up to par with the Super NES version.
Gameplay: well the gameplay is just like any game in the Donkey Kong Country/Land series. There are six worlds packed with stages. The stages vary from swimming underwater to getting shot of cannons in the sky. The game is a side scroller in the veins of Mario, as you collect bananas to get 1-ups. There are a few secrets in the game as well. You can save your progress as expected.
The replay value of this game is good because you want to keep on playing until you hit 100%. To get 100% you pretty much have to get every DK coin in every level. If you do this you can access a special place at the end could the Lost World.
Overall, this is a fun game, but you may get the feeling of Deja Vu while playing.
