Simply put, the best Gamecube game yet.
If you have a Gamecube just go out and get this game now. Even if you don't have one, go get one so you can get this game. It would be worth shelling out $150 for the cube and $50 for the game. It's just unfathomable how good this game is. So let's get started.
This game isn't an FPS (first person shooter) it's actually an FPA (first person adventure) Those of you who liked the controls of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, you'll be very happy with this game. The controls are a lot like that. Unlike most first person games, you don't have to use the c-stick to control your view. Instead you just press and hold L to auto target. It makes the game so much better since you really don't have to worry about aiming. If you do want to manually aim it all you have to do is press and hold R. The controls in this game are simply, brilliant. The game itself is more fun than you can imagine. Although it lacks a multiplayer mode, the single player is just unmatched. You start out with minimal weapons and gain more as the game progresses. Basically the point is simple. DESTROY ALL THE BIG MONSTERS!!!!! Yes, there is a lot of that in the game but that isn't all. There are may puzzles to solve but unlike a lot of games, they don't get repetative. Almost all the puzzles are different from the ones before it so you won't get bored with that. One of the things about this game that set it apart from all others is the freedom you get. You can scan everything you see and all the creatures for hints, tips, and strategies. Another thing is that this game isn't quite as linear as most games. While you still have to do things in a certain order, when you start the game there is a lot to explore and much is available. The gameplay is very unique and is one of the highlights of this game.
THIS GAME HAS THE BEST GRAPHICS EVER!!!!!!!! I have never seen a game that runs so well with such good graphics. The extremely expansive world of Metroid Prime is absolutely seamless and detailed. While the graphics are nearly perfect as it is, it's the small thibgs that set it apart from everything else. In the rainy overworld, the rain bounces off the gun and splashes on Samus's visor and when you go under a waterfall, her visor gets misty. Sometimes when you kill a creature, the ''innards'' will splatter on her visor. No matter how intense it gets, the game will never studder.
The music in this game is beautiful. It fits the mood perfectly. It's intense and smooth when it needs to be. The monsters all make unique and realistic, (as realistic as a monster can be) This game has some of the best sound I have ever heard.
Story? What story? I have no idea what the story is but does it really matter with a game like this? I think Samus received a distress signal from the planet Tallon IV. I think that's about it.
This game is extremely long as it is but once you do beat it, you'll probably want to beat it again soon. Also, once you do beat it, you unlock hard mode which makes all the monsters much stronger. So overall this game will keep you entertained for a very long time.
Like I said, this is the best Gamecube game ever made if not the best game ever made. Go buy it now!!! You won't regret it!
