The only game where the ultimate weapon is a one-eyed sword!

This is a great game. This is a review for gamecube. While most of the review still stands for the other versions, you will probably want to look at another version also before you buy the game. This game is a must have, even if you haven't played the original Soul Calibur for Dreamcast or arcade.

Gameplay: 10/10

This game has awesome gameplay. There is virtually no slowdown, and it has a wide variety of characters to choose from. There are the big, strong, slow ones. There are also the normal sized ones, which can be powerful, or really fast, or even both! Then there are the small ones which are usually fast, but not that strong. It doesn't matter who you choose though, because you will have a blast playing this game. The levels are truly amazing and stunning. They have from underground, to above a pit of green lava, to high above a windmill. The heart of any game is gameplay, and since soul calibur is so good, there is no choice but to love it.

Graphics: 10/10

These are some of the best graphics that I have seen on the gamecube yet. The characters are carefully detailed, and the levels look almost real. The weapons look like they are going to slice through the screen. Even the lightning that sometimes erupts on one of the characters body's looks awesome. The graphics remain stunning even in the heat of battle, even when you are slicing and dicing an opponent the graphics remain unchanged. It is a great spectacle, and almost no other game in the world compares. This game is a visual feast for the eyes. They have truly shown the gamecubes potential with this masterpiece!

Sound: 10/10

The sound is one of the best parts of the game. Each character has his/her own voice or grunt. The sound of metal when it hits another blade. The awesome affect of the explosion as you see your opponent go toppling above your head. The music is rather good also. I really like the music when your fighting the final boss, or when your in a nice pallace about to get into a rumble. A lot of the music actually sounds like music that you would hear in a movie. The sound just matches so well with the time everything happens. The second the hammer slams into someones head, you hear it.

Replayability: 10/10

This game has a lot of replayability. There are so many unlockables in this game it's hard to keep count. I have been keeping count though, there are 88 things to unlock in this game. Some of the things you can unlock include: characters, weapons, stages, costumes, art gallerys, cinemas, and much more. Even if you're not one who likes to go through the trouble to get the extra stuff, there is still a lot of replayability in multiplayer mode. You can have fun for hours challenging your friends to matches against you. This game will last you for a long time.

Fun Factor: 10/10

This game is extremely fun. No matter who you choose you will have hours of fun playing this game. Even the most simple of things can be extremely fun. When you play the Weapon Master Mode, you might like a certain level scenario and play that one for hours after you've beaten it. Playing this in mulitplayer with your friends is another awesome thing. You can challenge you friends in a one on one battle to the death, or get another friend and play team battle, but as I said before, it doesn't matter what you do because it is going to be one of the funnest games you have ever played, or could imagine.

Overall: 10/10

This is the greatest fighting game of all time. You must put this game on your to do list. If you have ever liked any fighting game at all, then you will love this brilliant masterpiece called Soul Calibur 2!
