Thanks guys, that really helped a lot.

Shadowichigo- Well, the water's pretty low. I still don't have time to play because of my high school crap, so I don't remember well.

michellep80- The last time I played, I couldn't find the water increase/decrease. Could you maybe tell me where I need to find it?

And how is a Goron sitting on me going to help me?

  4. Clarification Request::
    "Oh, yeah! I'm under Oot."
So does that mean you don't need any more info?

  5. Additional Details:
Well, it's just that I'm having trouble because I'm confused about how to raise the water level and which room to go to. I think I might have screwed up because I went to several different rooms out of chronological order. Maybe I should go with the Goron sitting on me? :/

  1. There's only so far a walkthrough or simply stating where the switches are that can get you to where you need to be. The rest is all you. What do you mean by "chronological order"? Whenever the game won't let you progress, clearly, you need to backtrack and find another way. It's not like the game was designed to stop you from finishing the temple.

Re-read the 2nd "Answer" I gave you and really think about it. You've been stuck on this for 11 months now, and while the water temple is notorious for peeving people off, it really is just a matter of taking in your surroundings more. Oot is not a difficult game. Well, I'm a veteran, so it's easy for me to say.

But I have already given you everything you need, so either go back over what I've written or check out the gamefaqs on this site. Either way, the answer will be the same. Sorry you're having so much trouble.

  1. You get it after beating Dark Link.

  3. Quick question. How stuck are you?
How low is the water?or high.
If you dont even know that, restart the game. Or get sat on by a goron. One or the other.

  4. Okay, because Oot and Master Quest are together in this Answers section, you need to state which one ur playing when asking for temple related help.

In Oot you defeat Dark Link to get the Long Shot, it is impossible to miss as you make ur way through.
In Master Quest however, it is easier to miss. You actually get it pretty quickly though, shortly after getting the dungeon map and then the compass and before you even get your 1st small key, without needing to fight a boss or semi boss, whatever. Dark Link is merely blocking your way through in MQ, and yields no item prize.

You don't need to restart the game. Just retrace your steps. Wherever the water is where you are, there is always a way to raise the water. Look in every room and keep an eye out for Hookshot targets.

BTW the big difference between Oot and Master Quest where dungeons/temples are concerned is that you don't actually have to visit every room! Once you know what ur doing, it is actually easier than you realise.

  5. Still need to know if ur playing Oot or Master Quest. There REALLY IS A DIFFERENCE.
But since ur not making the distinction, I'll just put in Ocarina:

Water Switch 1: accessible via the opening to the east/right from the entrance (flanked by torches). remember, that one makes the water go to the bottom and is only accessible when the water is at the top level.

Water Switch 2: accessible with the water at the VERY bottom, go through the south most door. From what I can remember it's south, but just remember you need a key to get through this door. Hookshot through to find the next "Zelda's Lullaby Switch". This makes the water go up 1 more level.

Water Switch 3: via the locked door on the middle level. This is a longer passage to get to the switch than for either of the others, and is actually past Dark Link and after you get the Long Shot.

I'm going to stop this right here. Please, if you're actually playing Master Quest, TELL ME, k?
Also, this is all from memory, so I apologise for any misdirection, although I'm pretty certain this is all right.

    Good luck. ^_^
