"Mario dances, Brilliant!"
Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix for the Nintendo GameCube, is easily a very fun game to play. The people who buy it will also get a free dance pad, which is required to play. You may use the controller if you wish, but it's not fun. The main objective of the game is simple, you press the arrow keys on the pad as the respective arrow passes through the windows on the top of the screen. It seems pretty easy, but it's actually quite difficult, but you'll get used to it.
The story isn't all that good, someone has made off with the Music Keys, and it's up to Mario or Luigi to get them back. How do they progress through? It's obvious, they dance! You dance! Toad is the Bros. assistant for this game, although he's more of a humorous distraction than of help. You take the airship, the S.S. Brass, through five worlds, filled with plenty of places to dance.
The graphics in this game are what you would expect from Mario games. Cheerful plains, snowy mountains, and even a volcanic wasteland that resembles Mustafar from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. When you're elsewhere, just about every inanimate object has eyes!
The greatest soundtrack on the Nintendo GameCube, well, in my opinion anyway. The game is filled with many remixes of Nintendo themes, such as Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros. Along with classical tunes such as Mozart. The announcer can also help you get going.
The reason I gave this game a 9/10, is because of the difficulty. It can be very high, even on Normal level. Your rank is determined by your score, you can go through one song, not miss a single step, and still get a D.
This is one great game, and I advise all Nintendo GameCube owners to buy it. The dance pad, the great music, the helpful Workout mode, and all the party features make this game a hit.
