A game for the ages

Welcome to the world of Golden Sun, a great game in it's own right. Not as original as the first installment, but still it's very fun, and enjoyable.

Plot/Storyline: 8/10

A pretty well developed storyline, following the events from Golden Sun. You begin the game, with Jenna inside the Venus Lighthouse. Do not fear, if you didn't play Golden Sun, because there will be a long prologue, telling the events of the first game. This is not another, ''Find the bad guy, beat him up, the world is saved!'' plot. You start the game off with Felix, Jenna, and Sheba, who are trying to light all the beacons of the lighthouses. We don't really know why Felix, still wants to light the Lighthouses, but over the storyline the player will find out. Also, about halfway, to 3/4's of the game though, you can resume the control of Isaac, and Company!

Graphics: 10/10

What can I say: splendid graphics. Still the graphics are great, skillfully done, probably the best graphics for the Gameboy Advance. The graphics look just like the same as the previous game, which I am to sadly say that it isn't that revolutionary, but who would want a sequel to have completely different graphics!? The backgrounds are pretty, and you won't have to squint your eyes to make out a house, or building of some sort.

The summons, once again, are needless to say beatutiful. Along with he summons from Golden Sun, such as Cybele, Tiamat, Judgment, and Thor, there are new summons to use such as Zagan, Moloch, Flora, Iris, and many others!

Sound: 8/10

Not the most catchy tunes ever, but some are pretty nice to listen to, even if this is a RPG! Now, this time around, you will be able to listen to other battle theme music, than just one like in the Original Golden Sun! You can listen to Felix's battle theme, and others!

Gameplay: 10/10

The gameplay of this game is terrific! Not much different than GS, but still unique in it's own right. Transfered over from the previous game, djinni are still used. They are small critters that help you greatly in a battle. When you have a certain number of djinn on standby, you can summon a monster. And to maximize you GS:TLA experience, you should trade over your djinn from the original game, via game link cable or Gold, Silver or Bronze password. Then, when you collect all 72 djinn, you can fight perhaps the strongest enemy in either GS, or GS:TLA! You will have fun for hours!

Replay ability: 8/10

Well, you can level up, beat the ultimate battle, capture all the djinni. Nothing really spectacular, but it's fun just to play it over if you are stuck, or just feel like it.

Buy or Rent?:

Yes, definitely. This is one of the best handheld RPG's out to date. This game'll keep you busy for many hours to come!

Total Score: 9/10

Rating:   4.5 - Outstanding
