FFVIA, A GREAT RPG game for a GREAT port
Ah, Final Fantasy VI, one of my all time favourite FF series ever. As years goes by, Final Fantasy VI is still considered a very popular RPG among the world. This game is a remake of the original SNES Final Fantasy VI (or III in US) with more additional features.
FFVI has still has fantastic music despite the GBA/SNES differences in sound. But still it considered the best. The battle music is great and also some nice town music that makes you want to whistle the tune and also makes your mood feels better. There's also a flaw. Square should not have remixed some music because it will ruin the awesomeness of music.
FFVI has a very well-improved graphics for a GBA version. The characters and the towns are created nicely. The overworld map is great too. This also makes Gameboy Advance a good console.
It's a very nice and interesting story. That is why I really like this kind of story.
It's all begins with Terra, Biggs and Wedge in Narshe and are on the way to search for the esper as ordered by the Empire of Gestahl. Terra was mind-controlled by Kefka by putting a crown on her, so that she'll follow Kefka's commands and she still isn't aware of her actions. In the cave of Narshe, she is surrounded by the soldiers of Narshe and falls into the hole, unconscious. Until Locke, a treasure hunter comes to her rescue. When Terra is awake, she has an anmesia. As the game progress goes by, their journey begins as Terra and other characters are on their way to put an end to the Empire of Gestahl and to stop the War of Magi from happening again.
The gameplay is good and is easy to control. All you have to do is using the 4 commands "Fight, <character's special skill>, Magic, and Item". Despite the lack of two buttons, the controls have been redone perfectly. The Vanish/Death, a cheap and infamous way to beat enemies and bosses is no longer works as the bugs are fixed. An Auto-Dash option is introduced in FFVIA where you can run in towns and dungeons without holding a B button. The Esper system is introduced in FFVI which you equip the esper magicite and when you are in a battle you gain stats at level up, learn magic and mastered it when it reaches 100% and also summons the esper. The enemy encounter rates are as same as the SNES version. Eventhough there's some lag when you're in battle, but it'll not affect a great battle gameplay.
FFVIA also introduces new features: New dungeons and 4 new espers.
This RPG game is so awesome that you would want to play it again and again and again.
Two words: Buy it!
Even though it has some lags, but it still will not affect the whole things about the game. Go for FFVIA!
Rating: 4.5 - Outstanding
