"A remake of Zelda Link's Awakening..."
Thanks for reading another one of my reviews. As you may already know there is already another Zelda Link's Awakening game on the regular Game Boy system. Nothing has really change. There is still got the same boss, enemies, and some of the same dungeons. But there is new place in this game that you won't find on the other game, and you'll find out what it is later in the review. I have both of these game, the Game Boy version and the Game Boy color version so I know what's it about. After a couple of times beating the entire game here's what I give it:
Finally, if you really want to see this game in color, then your dream has just came true. Not like the other Zelda Link's Awakening game on Game Boy, this one has colors! You heard it right, the bosses, land, background, and much, much more things in the game is all in colors! But you may already know that it's definitely isn't in 3D. So don't expect to see some amazing 3D graphics in the game.
Again the gameplay is just like the other Zelda game on Game Boy. You start out as Link a Hyrule that was cast away to the sea by a storm. Link got stranded on the island and there is only one way to get off it...to wake up the Great Wind Fish! But don't thinks it's that easy. He has to go on a amazing quest to get the instruments to wake up the Wind Fish. Sound familiar? Well if you play the other Zelda Link's Awakening game then you should know about the gameplay. But there is one thing that is different from the other game. What is it? Well now there is one new dungeon that can only be found on this game! The dungeon is the new Color Dungeon and it's not found on the other game. That's it for the gameplay mostly... Oh yeah, what about the side quest? There is a lot of fun side quest in the game. Number 1: The secret seashell quest! In this side quest you're suppose to travel the island and try to find out some secret seashells. Sound easy? It's not. The seashells are all hidden. It can be underground, hidden in walls or even in the plants! Once you get all these seashells you'll be rewarded with a special prize...but I'm not going to tell you and ruin the whole thing. The second side quest is the Heart Pieces. Just like in the other Zelda games you can find the heart pieces to help you have more hearts so the game will be easier. That's pretty much all there is in the game. There is dungeons, enemies, weapons, items, bosses, side quest in the gameplay!
Music/Sound Effects 9/10
The original Zelda music is back! You might recognize some of the music from other Zelda games in this game. As for the sound effects, there isn't a lot. In the game you'll hear some regular sound effects. Like once you use the sword you'll hear the swoosh sound. Not much for the audio section but it's still great. Oh yeah there is one secret in the audio section that you can use. If you do something in the title screen right, you'll get to hear a special song...
If you have played the other Zelda Link's Awakening game for Game Boy then you'll already know everything about this game. Not much has change except for the colors, the new dungeon. That's all that you'll be missing out if you don't get this game. Thanks for taking your time out and reading this review of mine. Hope it helps and good luck!
