"A Masterful game"
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is a simply put amazing game for the Game Boy Color. Now, when playing this game, don't think pokemon. This is not pokemon. This is Dragon Warrior Monsters.
You are Cobi, or Tara, depending on what game you have. You have to...
It sounds boring but its a completely original idea that while you go through the game unfolds masterfully. Its not a story that tells you everything at the begining, and not one that says everything at the end. It never leaves you unsure for long, and also luckily it never leaves you with something to really think about as even though the story is impotant its never reminding you of what happened or asking what happened. Phew.
The gameplay is a very interesting idea, well, actually, its the amazing idea used in just about every Dragon Quest/Warrior game. Over 5 main worlds, a bunch of after game worlds, and and infinite supply of random key worlds which are never remotely the same between worlds, there's an endless supply. Also all of the randomly generated worlds have a special theme, and when your trying to get a certaint type of monster getting the right world is an essence of luck that can sometimes make or break your monsters future.
Note that this is as far as Game Boy Colors graphics go. These graphics are great! There is detail, which is sometimes hard to find in such mass amounts. Every monster looks unique, and there are, amazingly enough, no (or maybe theres one or two) pallette swaps! Thats amazing for a game when conserving space is important.
Okay it is good music and great sound effects. They're good but nothing special.
Truthfully, this game has no end! Sure, you can get the magic plug, but thats only the first literal 5% of the game! There is endless stuff to do! Get all monsters in the libray, level up monsters, beat all the special after game levels, go to a bunch of random key worlds... there is no definite end. I mean it. Have fun!
This is kind of like Replay. There is, after you beat the main game, just to much to do. Simple as that.
Now for a recap...

Adapted Score: 9/10
Rent or Buy: Well, as much as I advise to buy, since its technology is outdone with gameboy advance I advise if you want it you rent it before buying it. But I still think you should buy it!
