"The Sequal That Used To Be Part Of A Certain Game"

A Review for Sonic & Knuckles For SEGA Genesis! .......That's It. You can stop reading the top now.

Let us start with how this game started, shall we? SEGA was currently working on Sonic The Hedgehog 3 for the holiday season so many kids would wake up Christmas morning to find a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 under their Christmas Tree. However, due to time constraints & the fact that that one SEGA Genesis cartridge wouldn't fit all the other levels, SEGA just did half the game and called it Sonic The Hedgehog 3. SEGA later made this to show that they were still working on the game & titled it "Sonic & Knuckles." Although a strange method to show off a game, it was pretty effective.

Story (5/10, OK)
It's the same dang storyline from the other STH video games! Sonic stops the evil Dr. Robotnik from turning innocent woodland creatures into robots. The fact it got a 5 is because Knuckles has a different storyline. In Knuckles storyline, Metal Robotnik disturbs Knuckles while he's resting and scares off a whole bunch of woodland creatures. Still would've expected more.

Gameplay (9/10, Outstanding)
Running has always been a major part of the Sonic series, & this title gives us just that! You play as either Sonic The Hedgehog or Knuckles The Echidna. In each level, you move as fast as you can to the end and fight a boss. Sonic special ability's are that he can run really fast and use the special shields to his advantage, while Knuckles special ability's are that he can glide and climb walls. Both characters can still zoom through the stages though and each has a special entrance in each characters story. The game also comes with a lock-on feature so you can lock-on to Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 & Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & play as Knuckles in all of them (Sonic The Hedgehog is just the blue sphere special stages you play in the game, Sonic 2 is just Knux in the game while Sonic 3 puts both games together so you get the TRUE Sonic 3!)

Graphics (8/10, Awesome)
I gotta say, SEGA made the graphics in this look good! The characters look good, and the stages are really cool considering that SEGA made some of the backround move. Other than that, its the same as Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

Sound (7/10, Great)
Sound is pretty good. The tunes have been pretty well orchestrated and a lot of them are toe tapping good, while others may not be your cup of tea. The sound effects are really cool, even though some of them are the same sounds we had been hearing over a decade. Still, the sound is good.

Play Time (9/10, Outstanding)
This game is almost the same as any other Sonic title cause this game has lots of play time! You may not beat the game until maybe a week, but it takes a lot of patience to beat it. Especially in Sky Battery Zone!

Replayability (8/10, Awesome)
As said above, it could take a week to beat the game, but it takes almost a month, maybe a year to get all the Chaos Emeralds to truly beat the game.

Final Recommendation:
If you have a SEGA Genesis, buy it! If you have a SEGA Saturn, Gamecube, Playstation 2 or XBox, then buy Sonic Jam, Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Mega Collection Plus! It's worth it!

Final Score:8/10, Awesome!
