This game has been through a troublesome development cycle. It was actually at first developed by Noise Factory, who was almost finished making it. Reluctantly, they handed it over to Playmore, who decided to both revamp and rush the game out for release in order to develop Metal Slug 6 for the Atomiswave arcade system. This is evident by comparing a few concept designs of the bosses to the actual game graphics, entirely-removed bosses (i.e. the 'Stone Turtle' and the actual cult leader of the Ptolemaic Army) and the game's relatively 'unfinished' feel.
