"Fighting a war with Worms is more fun than it sounds!"

The objective of Worms Armageddon is to lead your army of worms to victory over your opponent. The modes of play are multiplayer, deathmatch, and mission mode, but this review is going to be on the multiplayer. There isn't much of a story in this game.

Graphics: 9/10

The graphics are two dimensional. Everything from weapons to explosions look very well polished. There is a wide variety of environments, some colorful, and others darker colored. Explosions will create holes in the environment, so you will often see pieces of land hanging in mid-air, which appears very strange, but you will get used to it.

Sound: 9/10

The sound is quite authentic. Several of the weapons have individual sounds, some funny. Worms voices are VERY funny. When you create a new team, you can select the type of voice your worms will have. You can also select your team's song, which will be played if you win a battle.

Controls: 8/10

Controls will actually be very hard at first. Some weapons shoot, others launch, and some are thrown. Several weapons do very weird things, so if you do not know how a certain weapon works, you could end up killing random worms, probably mostly your own. Grenades especially are hard to use because you need to carefully plan out how hard you will fire. Of course, once you are used
to the controls, the game will be much more enjoyable.

Gameplay: 9/10

This part of the game is just beautiful. Worms have health bars which are visible on the screen. Your object is to wipe all you opponent's worms health bars until they reach zero. The numbers are colored so you won't get confused whose worms belong to which person. Most terrains have water, so worms can drown in water and instantly die. What do you kill worms with? A LOT of
weapons are available to do the job.

Fun Factor: 10/10

This game is seriously fun. If you're playing with other people, you won't want to stop. Just remember not to set the game on infinite ammo on all weapons, because a few weapons are almost guaranteed to wipe out some worms without large effort. That could make you or the other person you are playing with very angry or frustrated.

Great graphics
Authentic sound
Wide variety of weapons
Gameplay is mostly balanced

Some very cheap weapons
Very predictable computer teams

Bottom Line:

If you want a game with a bit of everything that makes a game great, this is the one to get. Worms Armageddon's strength is the fact is simply fun. You could play against computer teams, but they aren't very fun or exciting. I had more fun setting two teams up and playing against myself than playing against the computer. For best results, play with others. FINAL SCORE: 9/10
